Pre Season update!!

What's up everyone!! I apologize for my absence from this blog.  I've just been really putting in some work on the oval and getting some things lined up for this 2013 season, which I must say is going to be a big season for me!  I'd like to start off by saying that I am in the best shape I have ever been going into a season, so that is really exciting because I have so much more confidence going into a lot of my future competitions.  My mileage has almost doubled, I am a lot stronger, and paying more attention to my nutrition, than I have in the past and the results I can see and feel when I hit the track to train.
As you all know, I am training with the New Jersey*New York Track Club, so I've got some good training partners that have been pushing me over the course of the last five months.  Everyone is coming along nicely and actually a few of my teammates have already competed this year, opening up in some strong showings in various events.  Seeing all that and knowing my capabilities has made me anxious and excited and I can't wait to get out there and start doing what I love!! Also, my birthday is on the 6th of February! So check back soon, I may have a cool little birthday video or something.  Who knows? I'm a random kinda guy. Well that's it for now, just thought I'd share a quick little update with everyone and let them what's going on en mi barrio!  Hopefully next time I have something a little more fun and interesting to share with everyone...so until then..Hasta Luego!

Pulled Over With A Mile To Go 0_0

So I had a nice little 7 mile run today and the weather was beautiful; just an ideal day for a run.  As usual, I had my iPod in, listening to my normal playlists, which normally consist of some music by Wiz Khalifa, Wayne, The Weeknd, Farruko, J Alvarez, and Yomo, just to name a few.  Tu Addicion by Kario y Yaret had just come on; one of my favorite songs right now.  I was approaching a mile to go, when all of a sudden I hear something that sounds like a quick sounding of a siren.  I look to my left and there is a cop car, pulling off the road and onto the grass of the park I was currently running on.
The police officer rolled his window down and shouted out to me, "Where you running to?!"  I wasn't sure what he said at the time, as I did still have my headphones in, and had just pulled them out as he got out his last word.  I replied "Huh?" and when he repeated it, I told him, "to my car," not quite sure why he was doing all of this.  At that point I approached the car, because I wasn't too sure what to do and he continued on and said, "A lot of the officers around here have seen you running all over, so fast and we were all just wondering who you are and what you are doing running so fast."  I laughed on the inside as well as felt a little honored and thanked him.  Little did I know, the police department had seen me around since I was in high school, putting in my mileage on a weekly basis, and have always wondered who I was and why I was doing what I was doing, so he finally decided to stop me on this day and figure out the mystery.
The officer was genuinely interested in what I was doing and what I had done in the past, so we got to talking for a little bit and I let him know that I was currently training with the best professional middle distance club on the east coast! :), New Jersey*New York Track Club and that I was training towards the outdoor IAAF World Track and Field Championships.  Once the conversation was over, he asked my name, wished me luck, and said he would let his partners know that the mystery has been uncovered.  Needless to say, that last mile was my fastest and happiest mile of the total 7.

The Dalai Lama's 18 Rules of Living

I enjoyed reading this.  Thought I would share.

1.  Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
2.  When you lose, don't lose the lesson.
3.  Follow the three R's: 1. Respect for self 2. Respect of others. 3. Responsibility for all your actions.
4.  Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
5.  Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.
6.  Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
7.  When you realize you've make a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
8.  Spend some time alone everyday.
9.  Open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values.
10.  Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
11.  Live a good, honorable life.  Then when you get older and think back, you'll be able to enjoy it a second time.
12.  A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.
13.  In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the current situation.  Don't bring up the past.
14.  Share your knowledge.  It's a way to achieve immortality.
15.  Be gentle with the earth.
16.  Once a year, go someplace you've never been before.
17.  Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
18.  Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

I Thought It Was Winter...

Well today I had a nice little run, which included 5 miles of terrain running at a decent pace.  The crazy thing about today though, is the fact that it was 70 degrees outside, and just a beautiful day to be out and doing things.  On my run I witnessed a lot of things because there were so many people out today, you would have thought the park was giving away prizes or something.  The one thing I do regret not doing was bringing my dog out for the run with me today, he would have loved it.  Being the photographer at heart that I am, I decided to take a picture of what I thought was pretty cool at the time. Just a little picture of a lake and some birds. Enjoy.  That's it for now.

Welcome and Enjoy.

Mundo Saludos,

I would like to start off by introducing myself.  My name is Sadiki White, I am currently living in New Jersey.  I have a great dog named Gunner, who many of you know, if not, you will learn who is as time goes on.  The reason I have started this blog, is to get myself out there in the world and express myself to the people, who are interested in knowing who I am or what I am doing.  I would like to start off by saying that, as this is long overdue, that it has been necessary for a long time and I will enjoy it and I hope those of you reading enjoy it as well!  You have entered into my world, where I will be blogging as much as possible, about my everyday journey's.  I hope this blog brings a little insight and entertainment to those who enjoy views on many different things across the world and in all aspects of life.
Who am I?  As of right now, I consider myself a proud dog owner, professional athlete, investor in the future, and a constant student.  I am currently training for the 2013 Track and Field World Championships held in Moscow, Russia, which will take place during the month of August.  I am currently training with the New Jersey*New York Track Club (NJ*NYTC) based in Piscataway, New Jersey.  This club is considered one of the elite clubs on the east coast and is headed up by legendary coach Francis Gagliano who has coached athletes on every level.  I couldn't be happier to be with this group, as I feel with this training and the partners I have to train with, the sky is the limit as to what I can do on the track.  I am extremely excited for this upcoming season, because I believe it will be my best season yet! Watch out world! I'm coming for you!
Also, as a fan of the stock market, I like to research and dabble in that area as often as possible; my latest pride and joy being Facebook (FB).  I was always a strong believer in Facebook's potential, as a company, to keep growing and providing the world with improved social communication on a daily basis.  For those of you doubting Facebook and their success. Don't.  They will continue to grow and be one of the internets biggest giants, not to mention the fact that they have a very smart man in Mark Zuckerberg (Some call him the next Bill Gates; time will tell) running the company.
Another thing about me that I am currently doing, is learning spanish.  I have always been fascinated with the Spanish culture and have been a constant student of it and will continue to learn more and more about it, through my studies of the language.  I am rather fluent in the language and enjoy speaking it, any chance I get, granted I have not fully mastered the language, there is much more room for improvement, and over the years I have been and will continue to find the areas I need improvement  on.
So there you have it.  A brief update and description of who Sadiki White is and what I am about.  I thank those who have decided to join me on this journey into a future I believe is extremely promising and filled with endless opportunities for myself and many others.  I hope to enlighten, engage in great conversation, and learn from those of you who have taken the time out of your busy schedule to read my blog.  I am happy about my decision to do this, as I do feel it will be beneficial for many of those to potentially see the world through someone else's eyes and open them up to new things and thinking. Thanks for your time! and until we meet again remember.  Sophistication is essential, Live by it.
Also check out iRunClothing for shirts! made for the runner :D.

Cheers!
